companies still are cautiously optimistic towards the deployment of cloud services

Cloud Computing
The network of networks is the platform for all computing.”
Tim O’Reilly, CEO O’Reilly Media
According to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is cloud
computing a model, which grants on-demands access to a shared pool of
configurable IT resources (e.g. networks, server, storage systems, applications and
services) anytime from a variety of devices. These services can be accessed easily
with minimal management involvement and service provider interaction. There are
five properties, which characterize cloud services (Mell & Grance, 2011, p. 6):
On-demand Self-Service
Broad Network Access
Resource Pooling
Rapid Elasticity
Measured Services
6.4.1
On-demand Self-Service
On-demand Self-Service describes the provision of resources, such as computing
power or storage, which happens automatically without interaction between the
consumer and the service provider (Mell & Grance, 2011, p. 6) & (Weippl, 2012, p.
16).
6.4.2
Broad Network Access
Broad Network Access denotes services that can be accessed via standard
mechanisms over the internet using client devices like for example mobile phones,
tablets, laptops or workstations (Mell & Grance, 2011, p. 6) & (Weippl, 2012, p. 16).
